They are also developing a custom intercooler to handle the increased airflow and heat generated by the supercharger. The goal is to have the engine ready for the SEMA Show in November.

The Banks team is embarking on a massive project: building a custom 1966 Chevy C20 pickup truck powered by a supercharged Duramax diesel engine. The first step involves removing the cab and bed from the original chassis and preparing them for installation on a new Roadster Shop chassis. Gale Banks is developing a new camshaft for a supercharged Duramax diesel engine. The new camshaft will have increased lift and duration to improve airflow at higher RPMs. Banks is using a Cam Pro Plus to measure and analyze the camshaft’s specifications. The next step in the project is to assemble a custom Allison transmission to handle the increased power output.
