Shop Tour at Roadster Shop! | Banks Built Ep 12

The Banks team goes on a shop tour at the Roadster Shop. Then they reveal the customized Spec Series chassis for our rusty 1966 Chevy pickup. Not only will it accommodate our supercharged Duramax, which is a much larger engine than the old Mr. Goodwrench 350, but it will stay straight when subjected to over 1,000 lb-ft of torque. Oh, and it has to accommodate 22″ wheels and lay flat on the ground. Take a tour through Roadster Shop’s incredible chassis factory.

During the shop tour, Erik and Jay take a look at the largest laser cutter.

The shop tour starts with an introduction to the largest laser cutter and its capabilities. After all the chassis pieces come off the laser table it’s time for them to go to the frame rail shop. Once all the welds are made all the parts are put together to make final chassis.

Next time, Wilwood owner Bill Wood started making brakes for Nascar stock car racing. As cars started accelerating to the 200 mph mark, drivers wanted something better. This is when Bill literally stepped into the pits with his own calipers.
