iDash Helps Plan For Regens

The Banks iDash helps Diesel mechanic Greg Nelson (aka DemonWorks) plan for regen cycles. It works so well, he made a new video with an intro that says it all: How often my Duramax 3.0 goes into regen – GM Software and Banks iDash. “Basically, it comes down to these 3.0L Duramax diesels. How often are they performing a regen, and completing it? Are they constantly doing the active regen or the passive regen? Let me show you that they do more active regens than you think,” proclaims Greg.

Using his 2022.5 Silverado 1500 LZ0 in this example, Greg uses his Banks iDash SuperGauge to monitor the soot content of the truck’s particulate trap, and plan for the regen cycles while on the road to save fuel. Back at his shop, he gets a summary of regens using the GM software on his scan equipment. The results are quite surprising.

The iDash helps with more than regens. Other diesel mechanics use the SuperGauge as a diagnostic tool because of its universal compatibility. The DataMonster version of the iDash is great for data-logging. The easy-to-use interface and intuitive navigation make it a great tool. It also pairs seamlessly with Banks tuners, PedalMonster, and SpeedBrake.
