Toyota Tacoma Boost Tubes: Banks 3″ Upgrade

Open up your Tacoma, 4Runner and Land Cruiser’s turbocharged lungs with Banks’ massive 3.0″ steel Boost Tube Upgrade Kit. Every facet of their design is purpose built to out perform, out flow, and outlast the factory components.

Banks 3.0-inch stainless steel boost tube upgrade kit with billet couplers and 5-ply Nomex silicone hoses for Toyota 2.4L turbo
Features 3.0-inch mandrel-bent 409 stainless steel tubing and CNC-machined billet aluminum quick-connect couplers.

Smooth mandrel-bent tubes deliver more air to your engine while reducing boost pressure loss resulting in quicker turbo response and greater efficiency.

The billet aluminum couplers aren’t just for looks and strength. They aid air flow as well! Upon close inspection, you’ll notice smooth curves aid in transitioning the air across joints. Outside, spring clips keep the couplers in place, regardless of our hard you off-road. Unlike the flimsily stock units, hefty stainless steel T-bolt clamps and 5-ply Nomex-infused silicone couplers will last the life of your truck.

Banks’ constant 3.0-inch diameter and smooth radiused bends outperform the narrow, wandering 2.25-inch factory pipe.

Just like Toyota, Banks is known for reliability and these new boost tubes are no exception.

Why Charge-Air Flow Area Dictates Turbo Spool and Power

Toyota’s 2.4L turbocharged i-FORCE engine (T24A-FTS) delivers impressive low-end torque, but its factory charge-air plumbing creates an unnecessary restriction. Measuring only 2.25 inches in outer diameter, the factory boost tubes feature crushed, wandering radii and neck down abruptly at thin stamped-steel quick-connect joints. Under heavy throttle or sustained uphill climbs, this restrictive factory plumbing causes a significant pressure drop between the turbocharger compressor and the intake manifold. This forces the turbocharger to work harder and spin faster just to overcome the restriction, driving up compressor outlet temperatures and reducing efficiency.

The Banks Boost Tube Upgrade kit eliminates this bottleneck with massive, 3.0-inch constant-diameter 409 stainless steel mandrel-bent tubing. Stepping up from 2.25 inches to a full 3.0 inches expands the internal cross-sectional flow area, drastically reducing charge-air resistance. Lower pressure drop across the intercooler circuit allows the turbocharger to deliver target boost pressure with less parasitic effort, yielding lower intake air temperatures, faster spool times, and more usable air mass reaching the engine.

Engineered for rugged off-road reliability, the Banks system replaces flimsy factory rubber couplers and stamped retaining clips with single-piece CNC-machined billet aluminum adapters. These couplers feature smooth internal venturi tapers that eliminate turbulence across joints, paired with heavy-duty spring-retained clips that will not vibrate loose on washboard trails. Wrapped in 5-ply Nomex-infused silicone hoses and secured with stainless T-bolt clamps, the Banks Boost Tubes provide a leak-free induction tract built to last the life of your truck.
