Guy Fieri Reacts to Banks Upgrades: Extended Cut
Guy Fieri is no stranger to horsepower. He’s been collecting cars and trucks for almost as long as he’s been cooking. But the Mayor of Flavortown isn’t just into horsepower for fun. His stable of Duramax-powered trucks are workhorses, often towing toy haulers, boats, food prep, and rescue trailers.
Guy Fieri recently took his 2018 Denali 3500 HD to Cartronics in Santa Rosa, CA for some added power. The Cartonics team installed a Ram-Air cold air intake, 5″ Monster Exhaust with patented zero-backpressure SideKick tip, Derringer inline tuner with iDash DataMonster, PedalMonster throttle booster, and Ram-Air rear differential cover. Guy’s Denali gained 98 horsepower and a much quicker throttle response. Watch his reaction.
The video starts with the Cartronics guys installing the Banks parts and explaining the benefits of everything. Everyone who owns a diesel knows about the unfortunate pedal lag. Banks destroys that with the PedalMonster.
After everything is installed, Jay delivers the truck to Guy Fieri at his ranch. That’s when the fun starts with the test drive. Without evening mashing the pedal, Guy floors it and “goes fast, fast!” Guy likened the difference as going from driving a school bus to a Corvette. When all was said and done, the Duramax added 98 horsepower.
