Customers drive from NY for install
When Rich Scheffler and his wife decided to buy an RV, they knew that it had to be large to accommodate themselves and their grandchildren. To pull their new beast they’d have to buy a truck with unparalleled towing capacity. The Cummins-powered RAM fit the bill. They haven’t gotten the RV yet, but in the meantime, this dynamic duo had a vacation planned for just the two of them. “We’ve seen nearly the entire East Coast,” Rich explained while standing outside Banks’ lobby on a sunny Monday morning. “We were looking at exploring the West Coast and we have our eyes on parts of Mexico and Alaska. As we’re getting older we just want to make time for seeing all that we can.” While Rich had been to California, this was his wife’s first time in the Golden State.
“After getting the truck I started seeing that heater grid problems were becoming more common. As I researched how to fix it, Banks kept coming up. Even though there were other options out there, none of them had the reviews that Banks did. Plus, Gale explains and tests everything! The more I looked, the more it made sense to future-proof our investment with the use of Banks products. I spent a year researching this, and everything just kept coming up Banks. My wife and I decided to go with the Ram-Air Intake System, the PedalMonster with iDash SuperGauge, the Ram-Air cold air intake, the Monster Exhaust System, and Boost Tube Upgrade Kit.”
Another thing that caught Rich’s attention was the Ram-Air Differential Cover. “As I looked into ways to make the truck last longer, I found the Ram-Air differential cover. I was really impressed that Gale Banks spent so much time in various videos testing and explaining not only the science but the payoff of how to ensure proper lubrication and cooling of the rear differential. Because we have a lot of family plans hinged on this vehicle, it was clear that the Banks diff cover was a smart addition.”
So why didn’t Rich just get the parts installed closer to home? “Everything just aligned. The trip to California was happening so we thought, let’s have the pros who designed and built the product install it.”
So, the big question is if he’s seen any difference in performance on his way home from the West Coast? “Without a doubt, the truck is a different creature. The big thing is that the fuel mileage is unbelievable! I’ve gained upwards of 4.5 miles per gallon. I wasn’t expecting results like this. If it keeps giving back the way that it is considering what we’re going to do with the truck, the parts are going to pay for themselves sooner than expected.”
