PedalMonster Gives Godzilla More Teeth
The idea of a big 7.3L V8 from Ford was something Tom McCormick really got behind, so much so that he actually bought two “Godzilla-powered” trucks. His 2020 4-door crew cab is the one that he calls his “go-to-church” truck because he can load up the family and be civilized. And then there’s his 2022 two-door daily driver; his hell on wheels. Even so, he still felt could use some sharper teeth. “Man, I’m in love with the engine in these trucks!, Tom explains. “The concept of a big gas engine in this day and age is just so great. I’m happy with the overall performance. I tow with it quite a bit. In fact, I collect antique tractors, so I have a gooseneck that I take with me to tractor shows. It gets a pretty good workout, but the biggest thing that I noticed was the delay in the throttle response. With all of that power, you can’t even get out of your own shadow’s way. And here’s the thing, I’m a volunteer firefighter, so when I get a call, I need to get a move on—QUICK!”
“I looked into pedal enhancements and I saw the PedalMonster. I wanted to know more, so I watched the video with Mr. Banks, and was pretty impressed. It’s very affordable. By day, I’m an electrical contractor, so it really made sense to me that you would want additional, steady 12v power for a device like this rather than the other boosters that pull power from the pedal circuit. I also like that it also is equipped with reverse safety that can sense when the truck is in reverse and reverts to stock. I can trust a company that thinks about things like that and has been around for as long as Banks.”
“I usually drive my truck with the PedalMonster set to SPORT, mid-range, and it has so much gumption that it’s surprising. We had a fire alarm the other day, and I was given the wrong address and ended up in a cul-de-sac. When I went to turn around I put my foot into it and ended up drifting sideways all the way down the street! Man, this truck is a whole different animal now.”
