Banks Built | Episode 1
Introducing BANKS BUILT, a new series from Banks. New episode every Monday on YouTube.
We purchased a running 1966 Chevy C20 3/4 ton pickup for $1. Yes, one dollar! In this episode, we explore our truck before deciding what we’re going to do with it. Follow along as we give this decomposing truck a new life.
Jay drives the blank canvas (more like introducing tetanus) back to Banks to get explore. Before gutting this thing, he wants to know what came with the stock truck. After a quick search on eBay, Jay purchased an original brochure for the truck for $18.
Using receipts from the glove compartment, Jay pieces together some of the maintenance histories of this once-loved truck. In 1985, the pinion and carrier bearings were replaced. Fast forward to November of 1999, the truck got a new engine for the cost of $1,786. The tires are from 2002 and it shows. Needless to say, the warranties for this work are long expired.
After 2002, there is no record of maintenance for the truck. That’s okay because we’ll be detailing every new upgrade on Banks Built.
