Competitive Intake Testing

Banks tests everything and then retests it. Air intakes are no exception, especially when the product is intended to offer the best in market power and filtration, while also being trouble code free. Even though the design is in CAD and has been flown in a CFD program to ensure that the design employs the optimum flow, Banks wants to know what its competition performs like. Each competitive product is purchased and tested on the flow bend as well as run on the dyno on the intended vehicle.

Shown here is an intake from another company being tested on the bench, with the iDash DataMonster and 4-Channel Sensor Modules providing the test and data logging instrumentation. By fingerprinting not only the intended Banks product and the product on the market Banks can use the data to make the best product available to the market, with features and benefits that go beyond the finished product’s cost to the customer.
