Our camera crew caught a candid chat between Gale Banks, Matt Gamble, and Dragos Toma of Candela Manufacturing, watch the bonus material. Dragos was just tapped to assist with header fabrication. During their discussion, Gale reveals he’s working on a hybrid. Of course, the motor he’s working on for it generates over 500 horsepower on its own.

“We’ve built a lot of headers for a lot of vehicles. And lots of guys have beautiful headers, but I’m not sure the science of physics has been optimized,” explains Gale before suggesting continuing this discussion over a beer.

Even the Banks Sidewinder Type-R gets brought up in this bonus material

Mat Gamble reveals that there will be three stages of the Banks Turnkey Crate Engine program. The LokJaw vehicle is stage one, a super-charged diesel. The stage three crate engine has a goal of being able to climb Pike’s Peak. That’s quite a big reveal for some bonus material!

Spoiler alert: The Banks Sidewinder Type-R is going to get a gnarly upgrade with some custom headers. The Banks racecars, including the Type-R, are on display at the NHRA Museum.
