1994-2002 RAM 5.9L Ram-Air Intake

If you have a 1994-2002 RAM 5.9L, you know that not only is it built tough as anvil, but owners don’t have to worry about that dreaded heater grid failure happening in the newer 6.7L engines. But with all of the modifications and upgrades that you can do to that old 12- or 24-valve, the best place to start is by improving the intake airflow. Most people put on what we call a “filter on a stick,” an exposed air filter at the end of a bent tube. That kind of exposed intake just inhales power-robbing heat from under the hood.

The Ram-Air Cold-Air Intake System is just that: a system that draws in power-adding dense air that increases power and fuel economy. It’s inlet dwarfs the stock inlet, and it replaces the factory unit’s flat panel filter with a large conical filter that provides maximum high-flow filtration. The huge inlet, enclosed housing, and much larger tubing reduce restrictions, dramatically improving airflow to the cylinders. And there’s no guesswork that went into engineering the system, even the intake tube was shaped for maximum flow, using CFD (computational fluid dynamics) software. Choose from oiled filter or dry filter. Plus, you can even get an extra layer of filtration protection by adding a pre-filter.
