Wild headers for our DURAMAX | Banks Built Ep 38

Ever seen a Duramax engine with custom wild headers? Well, here they are. We coupled our engineering team’s geometry with Dragos Toma’s artistic flair. Having honed his craft at Nelson Racing Engines, Dragos combines incredible craftsmanship and artistry into his headers while keeping the physics of a V8 diesel engine in mind.

This video was shot over the weekend. Yes, this past weekend. The SEMA Show is next week. We’re starting to sweat. Everyone is rallying. Our fabricators are amazing but busy with everything else that’s needed for LokJaw. That’s why we called over Dragos to fabricate the wild headers.

Matt and Gale explain the layout of the wild headers to Dragos.

Matt has already designed the wild headers in CAD. As long as the guys at Empire Fabricators don’t throw any curveballs with their layouts, it should be smooth.

After meeting Dragos, we jump over to Specialized Coatings to see the Banks Red Cerakote where SEMA is a dirty word. The engine looks great.

Next time, we unbox our Whipple 3.8L front-drive dual-inlet twin-screw supercharger! Everyone around the shop is downright giddy. It’s October, but it feels like Christmas around the shop.
