The Supercharged Duramax in Mike's engine room

The color of the supercharged Duramax engine block is Banks Red. Cerakote will be unveiling the new color at the 2022 SEMA show. There have been many iterations of the Banks Red, but this is the latest one and it has a nice gold flake to it.

Gale is trying to work with GM to get the camshaft into all Duramax engines from the assembly line. Every head bolt and valve spring in this engine was meticulously engineered. Custom head bolts are important when an engine is producing so much power because cracks can occur.

On the next episode, we reveal the wheels that will be moving LokJaw. Keep following Banks Built for news about the Banks R866SC supercharged 6.6L diesel crate engine.
