Gale Banks takes us inside this unique billet aluminum Whipple 3.8L front-drive twin-screw supercharger and custom-machined Twin-Ram 5″ inlet. Whew, that’s a mouthful! He also explains our custom 12-rib supercharger crank pulley. Opening up the boxes have Matt and Gale acting like pair of children on Christmas morning.

Gale shows off the custom 12-rib crank pulley with the Banks emblem. Then it’s the moment we’ve been waiting for, unveiling the Whipple 3.8L. Matt and Gale went back and forth about the CAD design. The setup includes custom data acquisition points. If you know Banks, you know we love data. Pressure and temperature data will be collected from these two spots right in the induction.

The units will feed our new Banks Duramax R866SC 6.6L diesel turnkey crate engine, debuting at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas next week. Come see the engine in LokJaw, our rusty ’66 Chevy C20 pickup, located in the AMSOIL booth, 24613.

Next time, Gale and Matt walk through all the things that make our new Banks R866SC supercharged 6.6L diesel crate engine different than every other Duramax.
