Smoking Tire Podcast Tests PedalMonster

Famous for his strong opinions, The Smoking Tire Podcast‘s Matt Farah tested a Banks PedalMonster throttle sensitivity controller in “the most boring car imaginable.” Matt put the fairly-beaten 40,000-mile rental Charger through its paces.

Matt’s first testing attempt resulted in his camera being knocked down. Then that trademark PedalMonster smile appears across his face.

The PedalMonster smile on Matt from the Smoking Tire podcast.

“Well, it definitely wakes her up! It knocked OVER the camera for crying out loud!” He then backed off to avoid getting a speeding ticket. “It takes it from being lower-end grunt to jumping out from underneath you.”

The host of the Smoking Tire was pleasantly surprised that all the extra oomph could come from changing the pedal response, and no actual horsepower was added. “It’s very interesting that the throttle response is strong, but it’s not actually adding horsepower.”

Watch as the automotive journalist rips around Culver City, California in City, Sport, and Track modes. Looks like PedalMonster got Banks yet another convert. Try one for yourself. We dare you not to smile.
