Ford 7.3L Power Strokes Need This

There’s a big problem with the ’94-’97 7.3L Power Strokes: they have no intercooler! Most people just get a chip and throw larger injectors on, but increasing a diesel engine’s fuel flow without adding more air results in incomplete combustion. This results in clouds of black smoke coming out of your tailpipe, and sooty smoke is wasted fuel and lost horsepower. It also builds hotter exhaust gas temps (EGTs), which can damage your engine. The result is that you’ll end up never getting the power potential from any of your upgrades.

Banks Intercooler Upgrade for 7.3L Power Stroke Engines

With the Banks Intercooler Upgrade, your 7.3L engine gets cooler, denser air, producing more power while keeping exhaust gas temps down. By lowering boosted air temperature, the denser air is more oxygenated and allows complete fuel combustion. The kit includes huge 3″ smooth mandrel-bent boost tubes, with no kinks or smashed areas. They keep air flowing with a minimum of pressure loss. The system’s innovative Twin-Ram manifold inlet does a far better job than stock by providing equal airflow distribution for consistent power delivery.
