Engine bay revealed! | BANKS BUILT Ep 33

We reveal our custom engine bay! Although it’s not completed, you can see the front tubs and firewall are works of art. And, it’s time to dismantle the bed on our ‘66 Chevy C20 long bed to turn it into a partial dump bed. We don’t know who spot-welded this, but boy did we have trouble busting these welds apart!

When Erik’s done with it, it’ll be holier than mother Teresa! Meanwhile, Matt shares his hinge design for the articulating bed, and we check in with Sean at Empire Fab to see our new engine bay and wheel tubs. It’s nuts!

Sean at Empire Fab works on the wheel tubs before the big engine bay reveal.

Many grueling hours of work get done in this 12-minute video. So the reveal is a massive payoff. The amount of detail that went into the bay is masterful.

In episode 34, we watch Erik and Eric grapple with squeezing the massive Duramax engine into the small, but beautiful Chevy. Warning: It’s stress-inducing. Will the Banks team wake up from this nightmare in time for the SEMA show? Stay tuned.
