UNBOXING S&S Diesel Fuel Pump and Injectors

Today Gale is Unboxing an S&S Diesel Fuel Pump Motorsport high-pressure injection pump and Motorsport Duramax L5P injectors. If you’ve been watching the Monster Truck series, you know we got up to 666 horsepower at 5,000 RPM and maxed out the rail pressure. To combat this, we called our friends at S&S Diesel in Indiana. They are wizards of diesel fuel injection.

The set of injectors they sent will shorten up the crank angle and be on time to get the fuel in. That is especially important to power, fuel efficiency, and reducing exhaust gas temperature and smoke. After explaining the benefits, Gale opens up one of the boxes to look at the S&S Diesel fuel pump.

The stock fuel pump gets up to about 3,500 RPM and plateaus and doesn’t deliver any additional fuel. It’s stuck at 187 liters of fuel per hour. We need it to get to 5,500 RPM. S&S Diesel’s pump gets there and beyond. It also helps with maximum bar pressure and will give continuous rail pressure, whereas the stock will only go to 1,800.
