NEW Ram-Air Diff Cover for Ford Sterling Axles

Aftermarket rear diff covers have been around for decades. But what effect do they have on your gear oil? What’s really going on behind the cover? Gale Banks compares popular high-capacity flat-back units with the new patented Ram-Air rear diff cover for Ford Sterling axles.

Why are flat-back covers bad?
If you’ve ever pointed a hose at a wall, you know that causes a splash back. Well, it’s the same concept for flat-back covers. The ring gear shoots the lubricant onto the diff cover instead of doing what it’s supposed to, lubricating the ring and pinion.

Flat-back diff covers do not consistently distribute the lubricant.

Banks is Better
Banks Ram-Air® differential cover extends lubrication life and retains fuel economy. Thanks to its
superior fluid and aerodynamics, the Ram-Air® Cover outperforms stock and flat-back high-capacity covers and does so with less lubricant. Increased distance between service intervals and less lubricant means you’ll save money while extending gear life.

The Ram-Air diff cover is also available on Chevy/GMC and RAM trucks.
