Custom Airboxes | BANKS BUILT Ep 30

Powering Lokjaw will be a Supercharged 6.6L DURAMAX that requires an abundance of air, which will require custom airboxes. Erik and Matt get to work on modifying the radiator core support that houses two custom-fabricated intake air boxes with Banks Big Ass Filters. These airboxes will have an inlet through the grill that will ram air into the air boxes and into our Whipple Supercharger giving LokJaw the air it will need to reach our horsepower goal.

Matt Gamble draws the brackets in CAD which will help support the custom airboxes

Matt Gamble uses CAD to create brackets for the LRT and AC condenser which are then 3-D printed. After they’re done printing, Erik bends them up to prepare for installation. One of the big challenges is figuring out how to do the custom airboxes through the radiator core support on each side. Plus, we have to fit in the Ram-Air.

The episode wraps up with a teaser for next week’s episode.
