5.0L Lexus Gets iDash And PedalMonster

Gilbert Trejo is a man on a mission for ultimate power when it comes to his 2020 Lexus 5.0L RC F. “When I first got it, I decided that I was going to max it all out,” said Gilbert, “so I’ve installed a high-flow intake, headers, upgraded fuel injection system, I’m getting a tune to run E85 blend, a performance exhaust, and suspension upgrades. I read about Banks online, and I saw not one bad thing about them. I had a need for more information on what was going on under the hood, so I decided that I needed the iDash DataMonster because I wanted the best for this car. The information that I’m able to record will help my tuner when he makes the calibration that I’ll need for when I supercharge it… which is coming next.”

There’s something that makes this car a little different than other RC Fs out there. This particular car came straight from Japan, a pure JDM, and its co-owner is Gilbert’s cousin actor Danny Trejo. “The initial thing that I wanted to do when we got the car was to track it and tie it into Trejo’s Tacos, but after I started building it up, I decided that I just didn’t want it to get messed up on the track. I really love it, and it gets mad respect from owners of Porsches, Lambos, and other high-end car owners.”

Even with its stout engine and all of the performance upgrades, there was still an issue with throttle response. “The car is fast as it is, but there was a hesitation in the throttle. You press on it, and there is a lag before it gets going. I researched what could be done to fix that problem and then came up with the PedalMonster as the answer. Against the competition out there Banks was the solid winner hands down. And as I’ve said I want the best for this car, why would I go with anything less?”

So, what’s next for Gilbert after he squeezes out every last drop of power available from his Lexus? “I’m not sure if when I put the supercharger on I’ll sell it or not. I just want to max it out, and that may be it for it. I might be happy with it, but then again I’ve always wanted a Cadillac CTS-V Blackwing for my next daily driver. We’ll see.”
