Cast Cylinder Heads: Why are they designed that way?

Banks Engine Program Manager, Matt Gamble

Recently AERA (which stands for the Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association) held a webinar to go over the subject of cast cylinder heads, providing insight into the design and manufacturing of them through a presentation given by Banks’ own Matt Gamble. Matt’s title at Banks is Manager of Design, Assembly & Test of Engine Programs. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Banks’ projects and crate engine program, and went over in detail the different materials used, design constraints and production of cast parts VS. billet and rapid prototyped heads, which also have their own advantages and disadvantages.

This informative webinar is worth checking out for anyone curious about cylinder head design.
