Vincent Biesuz’s 2017 GMC Sierra 3500 Duramax looks like it drove right off the showroom floor. He takes care of it, and he uses it to tow his equipment and race trailer. “The truck’s not a daily driver,” Vincent admitted. “But I do use it to tow all of my equipment and my race trailer when I go to the track on weekends. It had good power stock, but being a racer, I knew that there was more available under that hood. I went with Banks because I didn’t want to void my warranty, and I knew Banks wouldn’t do that. The first thing that I installed after I bought it was the Derringer, iDash SuperGauge, the Monster Exhaust, and the Ram-Air Intake. All that really made a difference, I mean that I was impressed! Then, about six months later, I installed the PedalMonster, and that made an even bigger difference. Next came the Boost Tube Upgrade and MAP Sensor Relocation Kit.”
Being a racer, the installation of all the parts was a piece of cake for Vincent. “I build my own engines for my race cars. Installation was easy enough, and the instructions were great. I build my own engines for fun, and while I’m not the fastest, at least when it blows up, I can take the blame. When I installed the iDash, I went with the Stealth Pod and color-matched it to my interior with the paint Banks suggested, and it turned out beautiful! I was worried about it looking off, but instead, it was just perfect. People think it’s a Banks truck.”
Other than the race trailer and car, Vincent’s Duramax pulls his heavy equipment without any effort. “I have a 750 Bobcat that weighs a little over 11,000 pounds, a long-arm excavator that’s just under 10,000 pounds, and I have a 14,000 pound equipment trailer. It’s something special when you tow that kind of equipment, and you’re able to set the cruise control at 75 MPH, and the truck performs like there’s nothing behind it.”
Vincent has no regrets about going to Banks instead of deleting and intends to keep his truck for the long haul. “I just put on a new set of tires on the truck at my buddy’s garage. He’s had and has messed around with all the brands of diesel trucks and he was impressed with how mine ran. He told me that compared to the fully-deleted trucks that he’s driven, none of them run like mine. He said it was unbelievable. And that is with me running the Derringer at level 5 and the PedalMonster on City 5. If you turn those all the way up, it’ll shred the tires. And here’s a funny thing: I got a call from a dealer asking if I wanted to sell my truck, and I just had to laugh. I mean, what would they give me… like $53K? My truck has low miles, looks new, and has more power than a new one costing $100K. With the Banks parts, there’s no need. I’m quite happy with my investment.”
