Walter Hallman, the owner of Prime Diesel & Automotive, spent 25 years working at a dealership before deciding that it was time to make a change and break out on his own. It didn’t happen overnight, but after some research, Walter found that there was no one in the surrounding area who serviced diesel pickups. His first step was securing an old propane shop with two rollup doors that were in just the right spot. But all too quickly he found out it just wasn’t enough for the work coming in. 

After some shifting around on the property, Walter added a little more room by adding on two more bays. Quickly it became evident that even that wasn’t enough. Last Spring he and his family broke ground on a 6,500 sq. ft. facility. They’ve seen tremendous growth since opening in 2015. Looks like his research for where to start the business paid off.

Prime Diesel & Automotive works on anything diesel but really specializes in the Duramax General Motors trucks. Walt was the first in the area to get one when they came out. “I cut my teeth on that one. Everyone seemed afraid of common rail injection, but to me, it was something exciting.” That passion has grown into the company participating in racing endeavors, laying down rubber, and winning drag times as an example of what they’re capable of. “We do anything from brake jobs on up, and we have a few toys. When we play, we play hard.”

From racing to simple maintenance, Prime Diesel & Automotive stands ready to assist you with quality workmanship, and service, and proudly installed Banks parts. “We’ve been a Bank’s customer since we opened. I can look from my office right now and see Banks products in our inventory ready for anyone who wants a quality product.”
