Move That MAP Sensor!

Modern trucks are riddled with advanced sensors that ensure they operate at peak efficiency. Among these, the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor plays a crucial role. A clean MAP sensor is vital for accurate readings of the air pressure within the intake manifold, which directly affects the engine’s fuel injection and ignition timing. Your engine’s EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) and PCV (Positive Crank Case Ventilation) systems draw unburnt exhaust gasses and oil vapor into the combustion chambers to lower combustion temperature, reduce NOx, and keep harmful gasses from entering the atmosphere. These dastardly conditions cause buildup on the MAP sensor, contaminating it causing inaccurate readings to the ECU, adversely affecting fuel economy and power output.

0:00 here is a problem with late model
0:01 diesel engines that the oems won’t tell
0:03 you about because it happens so slowly
0:06 and if I have to replace another one of
0:08 these sensors again I’m going to lose it
0:10 this little guy right here is your map
0:12 sensor also known as a manifold absolute
0:15 pressure sensor and this will send
0:17 critical data to your truck’s ECM to
0:19 calculate things like air fuel ratio and
0:21 injection timing but there’s a problem
0:24 this lives in your intake manifold which
0:25 is at the mercy of your beloved EGR
0:27 system meaning that Airstream is going
0:29 to be contain lated with exhaust s and
0:31 sticky oil Vapor that’s going to land on
0:33 your sensor and end up clogging the hell
0:34 out of it looking like this no it
0:37 doesn’t happen overnight but it happens
0:39 and that blockage is going to skew your
0:41 readings and ultimately lower power
0:42 output and fuel economy so here at Banks
0:45 we’ve engineered a map spacer kit and
0:48 this spacer allows you to take that
0:49 delicate sensor out of the contaminated
0:52 flow stream and save you from having to
0:54 replace this sensor every few thousand
0:55 miles and we make them for late model
0:57 cummin power strokes and Duramaxes

The Banks MAP Sensor Relocation Kit moves the sensor out of the exhaust gas stream and reduces oily buildup. The precision, billet part(s) are a simple install, and gets your MAP sensor out of the way of the flow of sooty-buildup making the sensor’s reports to the more dependable. Installs with simple tools in minutes, removing the stock MAP sensor out of the dirty airstream, ensuring constant power and better MPG.
