00:00 There’s a city mode, there’s a sport mode, and a track. Now, we’re just going to do this. [Music] Oh, definitely. I can feel the difference, guys. All right, let’s give it a Let’s give it a test. Wow. What’s up, guys? Welcome back to the channel. On today’s video, we’re
00:28 going to work on the 4ERunner here. Um, I’m going to do another another mod to the 4Runner. If you guys have been watching my videos about the 4Runner, you guys know that uh I did a couple of uh mods already. I upgraded the catback system. Uh I replaced the stock system
00:46 with um uh what is it? Red Rock Cadback system. I 100% recommend that. It’s the sound, the quality, and the way it performs. It’s spot-on. I recommend it 100%. I’m going to leave a link to that um catback system in the description box below if you guys want to check that
01:09 out. Another thing I worked on um as far as performance is um I replaced the stock intake with a cold air intake from SMB uh cold air intakes. That’s another thing that it’s working amazing. Those two work those two uh things are working together flawlessly. I recommend those
01:32 two. I’m going to leave the link to that cold air intake uh in the comment section below as well. And the last thing the last thing I’m gonna be working I’m gonna be working on today is um is going to be the acceleration department. Uh if you guys own or if you
01:50 guys have driven a 4Runner like this one here, you guys know that um they’re a little sluggish. They’re a little slow at takeoffs from a dead stop or an intersection or something like that. And I want to do something about that. So I went ahead and I did my research about
02:10 uh products that could help the 4Runner in that department and I came out I came across two of them. One of them was the uh pedal commander which I read a lot of more bad reviews than good reviews about that product. So I was a little skeptical about getting that one. The
02:32 other option was uh Banks Pedal Monster. Those reviews were a lot better. Nine out of 10 reviews are positive reviews about that product. So, I did the right thing and I went ahead and bought a pedal monster kit from Banks Performance. And that’s what we’re going
02:52 to be working on today. I think that mod is going to wake up the 4Runner. I think that’s the last piece I’m missing. Remember, catback system installed, cold air intake installed. I’m missing that third component, which is the pedal monster. I have it on the table. I’m
03:11 going to unbox it and I will show you what comes in the kit. Then, we’re going to put it on. We’re going to program it and then we’re going to take you I’m going to take you guys for a spin. And I want to see what the difference is. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it and
03:26 uh supposed to be a an amazing product. So, let’s go to the table and I will show you what comes in the box. All right, guys. And here we are. This is the box that uh I received from Banks. Um let’s This is the part number right here, 64325. And this is going to be the pedal
03:47 monster kit. This is going to be compatible with the 4Runner. So, let me cut this open here. and let’s start taking stuff out of the box. Okay. Boom. First thing you’re going to see is I believe this is the main piece of the puzzle here. Let’s get it out of the box.
04:22 All right. So, just remove it from here. And this is it right here, guys. So, this is going to be I think this is going to go between the uh uh OBS OBS OBD port and the pedal. That’s what I think it’s going to be. So, next thing here in the uh um there’s a bag with the OBD port plug.
04:51 So, remember guys, this is just a plug and play. No wire cutting, no splicing, nothing. This is just going to go directly into the OBD port. And then this is going to go plug in into here. And then in between here, this is where the g where the gas pedal is going to be. All right. So, we
05:11 have these two uh wire harness here. Well, this is the wire harness, but this is the main component. Cool. We have those two things. Get this out of the way. What else is in here? Another bag. Uh, I have another pigtail here, another connection. Not sure what that’s for,
05:28 but we will we will find out. I also have zip ties, uh, stickers. [Music] Pretty cool. And that’s it, guys. Just another thing here. Remove before dealer dealer visit. So, I don’t think the dealer is able to work on the vehicle or I’m not sure if they don’t like it, but this
05:55 is that has to be removed just before taking it to the dealer for any kind of service. I got to keep that in mind. Yeah, just like I figured, it’s going to be this piece right here first. It’s going to be this one here. Um, and then, uh, that’s going to go, one side is
06:16 going to go to the pedal, the other side is going to go to this. Looks like we will find out. I will go through the instructions and we will put it together, guys. So, next thing to do is go to the um go to the 4Runner and start uh taking things off so I can start
06:35 plugging all these things and hopefully I can see a big difference after I get all this installed. All right, so let’s go. All right, guys. We are here at the uh 4Runner. So, this is going to be the Pedal Monster standalone. This is the only thing we’re going to be putting in
06:55 right now. And these are the instructions. As you can see, we need to get to the pedal here. And then between the gas pedal, we need to put in the unit here. So, it’s going to go um we’re going to unplug uh the uh gas pedal harness. We’re going to plug it in into
07:14 the new uh unit. And then the uh outlet of that is going to go into the uh the actual extension. That’s going to be just an extension there. And that’s going to go directly to the OBD port. Simple, not too hard, not too crazy install here. So, what I’m going to do
07:34 is this. I’m going to remove I’m going to be removing the uh kick panel here. That way I can hide the uh wire through the back all the way to um the OBD port. The OBD port is going to be right there. Hopefully, you guys can see it. It’s right here. That’s the OBD port. So,
07:53 from here, I’m going to hide that wire. And then I’m going to put it behind the carpet. And I think I’m going to be removing that panel so I can hide that uh the pedal monster unit back there. And in there, way in there. Oh, sorry guys. Way in there, that’s our plug. I’m going to bring a
08:16 flashlight here so you guys you guys can see what I’m talking about. So, let me uh get ready with a flashlight and start removing the panel there. All right, guys. I brought my flashlight so I can show you down here what I’m talking about. There is the plug I’m looking for right there. I’m going to
08:34 unplug it from there. And that’s where I’m going to install the pedal monster harness. The plugs right there. All right, guys. To remove this panel, all you got to do is just pull it from back here. It’s got two clips and then a tab at that corner there. So, what you do is just pull it like this.
08:56 See those tabs right there? And then it has like a clip. That clip right there. Right there. Okay. So, that’s out of the way. I have room now to hide that uh uh monster uh pedal monster unit back there. Okay, now I have access to that. Um what I’m going to do is disconnect that first
09:24 and hopefully I don’t think I’m I’m going to have to remove the kick panel, but um I will see. I will let you know. [Music] All right, guys. And here we are. It’s already connected. I already downloaded the app. It’s uh connected to the u pedal monster here. Everything is
09:48 working perfectly. I didn’t do any of the of the connection and uh the the the setup on um the video because it’s a little lengthy. That’s a lengthy video. I’m going to leave I’m going to attach I’m going to copy and and and and attach a link in the comment section below to
10:08 Bank’s um official video. They show you exactly how to do it and I couldn’t explain it even if I wanted to as well as they do. So, that video is going to show you exactly what to do and how I did it. Uh anyway, once you get it all set up and uh download you download the
10:29 app and get it connected, everything works well. I’m going to give you a quick demonstration here of what it’s going to look like. This is the app. And if you can see, I’m going to I’m going to press I’m going to depress the uh gas pedal here. And you can see see that right there it says foot. So,
10:49 every time I press on the gas pedal, it’s going to show you what the uh stock setting is like. Now, if you go back here, there’s a city mode, there’s a sport mode, and a track. So, a city mode. You just click on that, and then that’s when it get starts giving you uh
11:09 the performance options here. These arrows is going to be to adjust um the sensitivity of the system. It’s all the way down. Now it’s up all the way. Okay. So now that’s the city as a sport. This is track. Cool. So everything seems like it’s working. So once I’m done
11:32 putting all this away, uh I’m going to take you for a spin and we’re going to take the 4Runner for a for the first drive using the uh Pedal Monster. All right. So let’s finish up putting all this away. All right, guys. You can see the app on my phone there. We are running it on stock. As you can
11:55 see, right now it’s on stock. You can just see the foot, the foot throttle right here. And right here, it says stock, city, sport, and track. So, we’re just going to leave it on on stock for now. And uh we’re going to see how it how it works. Stock. Well, stock is
12:14 going to be just the same thing as it used to be before. A little sluggish, a little slow. Now, what we’re going to do is on this uh next um speed bump over here, we’re going to put it on city mode. Let’s see what that does. So, we’re going to put it here on city mode. Okay. So city
12:40 it’s the power level is all the way up. Now you see that another bar uh appeared here as this is banks. This is the or stock throttle. Now we’re just going to do this. Oh definitely. I can feel the difference guys from stock to city. Oh yeah. I can feel it. Cool. Now, I’m going to turn around here
13:11 and we’re going to try the next uh the next one uh which is uh sport. So, I’m going to turn around here. All right. So, the next one here is going to be sport. I’m going to push on sport. And the power level is all the way up. Oh, yeah. Much much better. What a difference.
13:57 All right, so that’s on sport. I’m going to let the cars behind me go by and I’m going to go ahead and put it on track. This is going to be the last mode. This is supposed to be the faster mode. We’re going to take a look as soon as these cars are gone. [Music] All right. So, after this speed bump
14:30 here. Okay. All right. Let’s give it a Let’s give it a test. Wow. [Music] What a difference, guys. What a difference from stock to track mode on this uh Banks uh pedal monster. It’s the difference is huge, guys. Wow. What an upgrade, guys. What an upgrade. And you can change it on the on the fly
15:22 here. So stock. Oh no. This is so slow. So lazy. Lazy takeoffs. I like it. I like it very much. All right, let’s turn around. Now we remember we are on uh stock mode right now. Okay, we’re going to put it on track. [Music] Wow, it works. That’s for damn sure. All right, guys. And there you have it.
16:07 That was the quick and easy install of the Banks Pedal Monster. It’s a different vehicle now for sure. It’s a lot faster. It’s not sluggish as it was before. I recommend it. I recommend that uh mod to any of the 4Runners or any other vehicle. Not sure if they make
16:26 that for all a lot of vehicles, but if you have a 4Runner, it’s it’s something that you should think about doing. It’s a different vehicle now. It looks like it’s got I added something like more horsepower. All right. Um, if you guys have any questions about anything I did on this
16:45 video, please let me know. I’m going to add the link to that uh to the setup video because it’s like a 10 minute or so, 10 minute long video. I didn’t want to do it myself. So, uh, Banks Power, they do a great um they do a great job letting you guys know how to set it up.
17:04 I’m going to add the link to that video in the description box below. Cool. So, this was uh just a small video, guys. I will see you guys next time. Uh there’s more content coming up. Uh I think the next thing we’re going to work on is going to be the OBS again. We have
17:21 something planned for that. So, stay tuned. Thank you for liking. Thank you for subscribing to the channel. And uh if you like what I do on my channel, please consider giving it a thumbs up. I will really appreciate that. Hey, until the next one, guys. See you and peace out.
