2005 Gale Drives the Baja 1000

Gale Banks, who has competed in many forms of racing, never did so in the Baja 1000. That all changed in 2005 when he started the first leg of that race.

The Baja-prepped Ford 6.0 liter Power Stroke diesel was fitted with some extra punch from Banks by way of a Banks Big Hoss Bundle for an additional 138 horsepower and 231 lb-ft! Being a first-timer at the event didn’t faze or deter Gale at all as he finished his portion on time, handing the truck off to the next driver with no damage to the truck. After steering and drivetrain upgrades, the Banks Big-Hoss-powered Power Stroke started a string of wins and podium finishes—all against the gasoline-powered competition.
