RAM EcoDiesel Transformed

“I bought my dream truck in 2020,” said John O’Shaughnessy about his 2020 RAM 1500 Limited EcoDiesel. It’s his daily driver, and his work truck. “I own a towing business and haul a 10,000 lb. trailer. I have a long commute every day; it’s a lot of highway driving, and I take the kids to school. Basically, I do everything with it, and I love this truck. It has the comfort of my living room, but unfortunately, it also has the acceleration of my living room. The EcoDiesel is a torque powerhouse, but the horsepower is anemic. The worst is when you’re merging. You mash down the throttle and the lag was so long before the power kicked in. I drove it for 3 years and 60k without the Banks Derringer tuner, PedalMonster, and iDash DataMonster

After I bought the Banks upgrades and I’d swear there’s a 450 horse V8 under the hood. The truck went from driving like a tractor to an athletic powerhouse. The powerband with the Derringer is just amazing, and that is only on level 3! The power comes in immediately and the PedalMonster is only on CITY level 6! I love it! It’s not a rocket by any means, but if she’s in full-attack you’ll burn the back tires if you slam the throttle. It’s just too much damn fun.”

John is no stranger to Banks products. “I had a 2003 Duramax LB7 with a Banks Six-Gun tuner. I drove it 180,000 miles and never had a problem. I could smoke Mustangs in an 8000lb truck! I ended up selling it in favor of a newer truck, but the thought of how much fun I had with that made me go back to the guy who bought it years later because I wanted the truck back. He just wouldn’t part with it.” Looking forward, John says he’ll only buy trucks that Banks has a tuner for. “They do stuff all the way. I mean look, they don’t give military contracts to halfwits.”
