6.7 Cummins Monster-Ram: Smooth Intake Airflow
Your 6.7L’s stock intake elbow kills airflow with its sharp bend and restrictive air path. That added restriction makes the turbo work harder and dulls response. A Banks Monster-Ram intake elbow takes a different route—literally. We rerouted the #1 fuel line and replaced the restrictive grid heater which allowed us to open the air path and remove restrictions without impeding cold starts.

Why it works:
- No dent, full flow — proprietary #1 fuel line hops over the elbow
- Restriction removed — vertical coil heater + billet intake plate (keeps cold starts)
- Street-legal — 50-state compliant, CARB EO D-161-170
Why No-Dent Geometry and Billet Plenums Redefine Cummins Performance
On a factory 6.7L Cummins, the #1 high-pressure fuel line runs directly across the path of the intake elbow. To clear this hardline, the factory casting—and virtually every aftermarket competitor—pinches, crushes, or dents the intake tract inward. This severe reduction in cross-sectional area introduces a sudden constriction, causing high-velocity boost air from the intercooler to trip, separate from the boundary layer, and enter the cylinders in a turbulent state.
Banks refused to compromise airflow geometry to fit a factory bracket. Rather than denting the casting, Banks engineers developed an all-new, proprietary #1 fuel line that cleanly arches up and over the Monster-Ram elbow. This critical innovation preserves an expansive, full-diameter bore with sweeping, computer-modeled interior radii that eliminate aerodynamic choke points and ensure equalized boost distribution across all six cylinders.
Downstream of the elbow, the Monster-Ram replaces the restrictive factory grid-heater block with a CNC-machined billet intake plate and an all-new vertical coil heater. This design eliminates the grid’s airflow resistance and removes the notorious dropped-bolt hazard, all while ensuring flawless cold-morning starts. Backed by full 50-state emissions legality under CARB Executive Order D-161-170, the Monster-Ram allows your turbocharger to spool faster and breathe freely with zero compromise.
