Joseph Khan – 2016 RAM Mega Cab 4×4

It’s nut season, pistachios to be exact, and Joseph Khan is working hauling 50 to 60K lbs. of fertilizer chemicals himself. He doesn’t mind working, even though he owns the company. “You have to remember what you came from,” says Joseph, “I’ve seen too many people who own businesses set themselves above their employees, and that is never going to be me. Heck, I may have been home for two hours last week… but there’s work to be done!”

Joseph’s 2016 RAM is anything but normal. Not only is it running everything that Banks makes for it (a Banks intercooler, Monster Ram intake elbow, Ram-Air cold air intake system, and a Ram-Air Differential Cover) its 6.7 liter powerplant has been de-stroked to a 6.4 liter and is running a compound turbo system, larger injectors and dual CP3 pumps. So while the rest of that sounds standard for people aspiring to build a powerful ride, it’s the fact that it’s a de-stroked engine that makes it an oddity. The reason he had this done was to allow the engine to spin at a higher RPM, make gobs of horsepower and live a long time yet still be able to drive nicely on the street.

 Dynoed at 1,491 horsepower on factory wheels it delivers power to the street through a RevMax transmission and a custom driveline. As for looks Joseph wanted a pre-runner look and went with an air ride suspension so that he could get it into the garage, drops down to 6” and jacks up to 18”. Every component of the truck is either chrome plated or powered coated… even the cab bolts.

The majority of the truck’s body has been made from carbon fiber. The entire interior, even the A-pillars and headliner, is gold diamond hand-stitched. For rocking out the neighborhood a Kicker audio system that pumps out 26,000 watts can be heard for miles, but only when the doors are open due to double sound deadening in the cab. A 7-camera system assists drivers of this behemoth to view from every angle eliminating blind spots, but just in case this monster of a truck runs over an unsuspecting Honda it will not be hurt because the bottom of the cab, bed, fender wells have all been Rhino-lined.

Just in case Joseph were to install a rollcage in the cab, every system has its own on/off (engine, fuel, power) per NHRDA rules meaning that the truck is ready for track combat. And keeping it stable on the streets are Hellwig sway bars.
