Andrew Windham and his 1991 GMC Suburban

Andrew’s 1991 GMC Suburban, which he picked up with only 150k miles on it for just $6,500, is a virtual time capsule. The previous owner did a fantastic job taking care of this all-original beauty. The only addition to the vehicle was the Banks Sidewinder Turbo Kit, which Andrew has no idea of when it was installed. Paint is factory, interior is factory, even the Delco cassette tape stereo (although not working at the moment) is factory.

He considers himself lucky that he stumbled on the Suburban sitting in the showroom of the Car Cave in South Carolina. “I bought my dream car for only $6,500! The only thing I’ve done to it was change the pump from mechanical the electric because it was leaking oil,” says Andrew, “and really that’s going to be pretty much it for changes. I want to keep it like it is since she runs great, and purrs like a kitten. I’m very happy with it, and glad that I got it for such a steal.”

It’s a true testament to how well engineered Banks systems are—as good or better than original equipment. Sadly, this kit is temporarily unavailable as we re-design the turbocharger.
