iDash, a Tuner’s Dream
Charles Sprague just bought the truck of his dreams, a brand-new 2024 Ford F-250 6.7LPower Stroke. “I love this truck!,” said Charles with absolute glee. “I’ve wanted one of these for quite a while, and my buddy got me a deal that I couldn’t pass up. As soon as I got it I went straight to Banks. I pulled the trigger on getting the iDash SuperGauge, PedalMonster, and I’m considering buying even more. The iDash is incredible. I spent the weekend going through everything. It’s a mini-computer, and you can totally customize it. I used to be into tuning, specifically drag and European vehicles, and this would have been a game-changer! Things have come a long way from the days when I had to use MS-DOS on separate computers for specific data that I needed to improve my tunes. If I had this thing 15-20 years ago, I would have had an edge at the race track.”
“My goal is to monitor all of the stuff I see on my truck, especially when it comes to towing. EGT, transmission, coolant—all the temperatures are important to keep an eye on. With the iDash, I can fine-tune my selections and create information-specific screens with the layout colored how I want them to look. I can even set alarms. How cool is that?”
“The PedalMonster is pretty incredible, too. You can fine-tune the response to be exactly what you want. Right now, I’m just running it on CITY level 5. Man, what a difference! Why would Ford not have this response from the factory? I mean, the truck is an amazing machine with gobs of power, yet you can’t feel it. With the PedalMonster, the truck just wakes up. I run 37″ tires and just lifted it. If I switch the PedalMonster to TRACK mode, it’ll blow the rear tires loose. Another thing that I like about it is that if I go to the dealership for anything, it leaves no traces on the ECU. All I need to do is remove it. It just takes a few minutes. It’s perfect!
