New Turbo: Killing A Duramax Pt 5
In this episode, Gales explains that the stock turbo is maxed out and the only way to squeeze out more horsepower is to give it a new turbo! Diesel World Magazine Editor Adam Blattenberg phoned Gale a week ago to inquire about the progress of the “Killing A Duramax” video series. “How’s it going?” he asked. “Have you blown it up yet? And, if not, why?” That seems to be the question on everyone’s mind. The answer is, Gale isn’t ready for the engine to fail—yet. We need to analyze so much more before the ceiling gets painted with it’s parts.

Rather than answer Adam’s questions over the phone, Gale grabbed a mic and hopped in front of the camera. The stock turbo is at capacity and the only way to make more power on the Duramax L5P is to give it a new turbo. Here, Gale walks Adam through the new Precision turbo, wastegate, and details his plan to make more than 600 horsepower.
