PedalMonster Improves V8 Silverado

Justin Frampton’s 2022 Silverado ¾-ton 6.6L gas V8 fits the bill for just about whatever he and his family need. It’s the daily driven family truckster, with a modest lift and 37” tires. “With the amount of driving that I do and the fact that my trailer is just 9,600 lbs, the difference in mileage between the gas truck and the diesel was negligible, and to me didn’t warrant the cost. It’s plenty of truck for what I need.”

“With the drive-by-wire throttle, there’s so much lag built in for fuel economy. I couldn’t stand the dead spot in the pedal. The good news is that the PedalMonster completely wiped that all out. It feels like a totally different truck. Now it feels like there’s a big 6.6-liter V8 under the hood!” Having paired the iDash SuperGauge to the PedalMonster makes it easy to adjust the PedalMonster on the fly. “I keep it on Sport level 1 mostly. In traffic, I turn it down to the middle of City mode. When towing I crank it up a lot. I don’t use the iDash just to control the PedalMonster, I have it set up to monitor transmission slip, transmission temperature, torque converter lockup, and gear selection. I basically have it set up for hauling. I’m looking to get that dual Stealth Pod and another iDash SuperGauge. I’m also going to be getting the Ram-Air Differential Cover as well. I like that it’s plumbed for a 1/8″ fluid temp sensor so I can monitor gear oil temps.
