Keeping this 2024 Banks Duramax Cool

In the new episode of R&D Update, Gale reveals the new 2024 Banks Duramax L5P. The 470-horsepower diesel powerplant will be extensively tested in Dyno Cell No. 2. In order to keep the charge air cool, our engineers have designed an all-new intercooler system capable of sustaining 1500 horsepower, forever. Gale shows us the inspiration for the unique cooling system. Take a closer look at just the design of the system.

Gale discloses that Dyno 2 was being used for super secret military projects, but is now fully dedicated to the new engine. The intercooler used in this engine is the same assembly that was used on the Dakota that ran in Bonneville.

The 2024 Banks Duramax has the same intercooler assembly as the Banks Dakota that ran in Bonneville.

Get ready to take notes because Gale teaches something new about intercoolers. “By the way, the intercoolers make more horsepower than the turbocharger or the blower.” You read that right and you can find out how in this video.
