Jeep Wrangler 4xe Intake: Banks Ram-Air Upgrade

Our Banks Ram-Air intake system is now available for your 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler 2.0L hybrid. We’ve removed all possible restrictions. The result is improved throttle response, fuel economy, and filtration.

Available both as an oiled or dry filter variation, the Banks Big-Ass Filter offers 627 square inches of filtering surface area and flows 82% more mass air flow than stock. This massive surface area extends the duration between filter cleanings. The Banks filter continues to flow long after smaller competitive filters clog with dirt and debris.

We’ve also eliminated the stock resonator so the little 2.0L turbocharged hybrid engine has an appealing growl with no highway drone. The new Banks Ram-Air Intake helps your Jeep breathe, filter, and sound better.

Installation is plug-and-play on 2024–25 Wrangler hybrids, making this Ram‑Air system a seamless upgrade for Jeep owners who demand real-world improvements in breathability, sound, and drivability.

Why Turbocharged Hybrids Benefit Most from Air Density Upgrades

The 2.0L turbocharged Hurricane engine in the Jeep Wrangler 4xe relies on high boost pressure to work seamlessly alongside its twin electric motors. However, the factory intake path is constrained by an acoustic baffle chamber (intake muffler) and an undersized flat paper panel filter. Under hard acceleration, towing, or steep rock crawling climbs, this restrictive factory plumbing creates a pressure drop across the filter element. This forces the turbocharger compressor wheel to work harder and spin faster just to draw in ambient air, driving up compressor discharge temperatures and robbing power.

The Banks Ram-Air system eliminates these bottlenecks by replacing the baffled stock assembly with an aerodynamically tuned, cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) intake duct. Featuring a generous 6.5″ x 4.7″ central oval inlet that transitions smoothly into a 3.0″ diameter turbo-inlet tube, the casing accelerates airflow velocity directly into the turbocharger while shielding incoming air from radiant underhood heat. By flowing 82% more mass air flow than the stock airbox, the system cuts pumping losses and sharpens low-end boost spool.

For off-road enthusiasts tackling dusty trails and silty terrain, filtration endurance is critical. The enclosed Banks Big-Ass Filter provides an immense 627 square inches of multi-layer filtration surface area. This massive surface area captures and holds trail debris without choking airflow, extending service intervals far beyond smaller aftermarket cone filters. Available in oiled or dry synthetic media, the Ram-Air system delivers clean air mass, instant throttle response, and a throaty induction sound with zero highway drone.
