2024 Duramax MAP Sensor Relocation Kit Prevents Soot Damage

Tim the Trail Man shows just how easy it is to install the Dual MAP Sensor Relocation Kit on his 2024 HD Duramax. “One of the known Achilles’ Heels is the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor located in the intake air stream. They get blasted by soot. These sensors, over time, can fail. It’s just easier and cheaper to install this Banks Power Sensor Relocation Kit. It takes the sensor out of that airstream and avoids check engine lights.”

“It took me longer to set up my tripod and a light than it did to install these sensor spaces.” A contaminated sensor can cause inaccurate readings, adversely affecting fuel economy and power output, and his sensor looked awful the last time he cleaned it with only 17,000 miles on it. Now, with only 5,000 miles after that cleaning, you can see the grime already building up and why the MAP Sensor Relocation Kit was needed. “Some people have claimed to get better fuel mileage. I’m not sure if that’ll happen, I bought them for the longevity of the sensors, and just keeping them out of the way of the soot.”

00:13 Okay guys, so somebody was paying attention and watched my power banks video on this diesel and they wanted to know what it if I do a test with the Sport mode and track mode. Now, I ain’t going to lie to you. I’ve been keeping it in sport mode. Sport mode makes this thing into a beast. Goes

00:42 from a tractor to a rocket. I love I love sport mode and I keep it all the way cranked up now. I didn’t when I first got it. When I first got it, I barely ever moved that thing up, but uh kept it on city mode. City mode’s good, I guess. So this is the uh 67 with the 355 rear end in and this 22F 350

01:04 and and just the what factory mode you know it’s got like a stall there in the beginning. Someone said that it’s because you know any anything they can do to get just a little bit more miles per gallon uh reported out for these trucks. So take your foot off the pedal.

01:22 I’m going to put it in stock mode. It’s It’s I mean it’s kind of like drive I used to have my CDLs. It’s kind of like driving a big truck in city mode. I mean it’s good. Don’t get me wrong. City mode’s real good. Let me pull out here. So I’m going to the stop sign. Let me look both ways. Hold on.

01:42 Seat belts on. That’s good. I’m going pull out. Oh, it’s so much nicer. So that’s like it’s I’m already at 50. We get down here. I’m going to put it in sport mode. Wide open. We’ll take off at this. I’m going to turn right down here. We’ll take off at this one in sport mode and see what I can

02:14 get. These one, these uh these 67 liters, they ain’t messing around. They are not messing around. All right, here we go. I don’t want to spin it out. Jesus. This is city mode. I mean, this is sport mode. 50 mph. All right, let’s go down here and go to track mode. I don’t know if we’re going to get no

02:39 ticket. Uh, I don’t I I hardly ever use track mode. Track mode’s a lot more responsive, but it’s it’s I don’t know. I really like sport mode. All right, so we’ll pull on out. We’re going to stop. Put this thing in track mode. I’m burning the tires. Yeah, it’s 50 mph. It was actually spinning the

03:13 tires. Yeah. So, for it to spin these tires, these are uh I think they’re equivalent to 32s, 32 and a halfs. They’re all terrain. Uh they’re Cooper Discover AT3s. Pretty good tire. Fad boy took off though. It really did take off. Okay. How do I like the power banks? I

03:38 love the power banks. Even when I’m have my camper, my slide in truck camper in the back, that thing right there, it it just does a fantastic job like like going in and out of the curbs. I I dude, I don’t know. It just feels better having that this power bank, having this

03:56 throttle response. The throttle response is amazing with this power bank. And if you don’t if you get in your truck and you forget to turn on the the app, it ain’t that big a deal cuz it’s still going to do it. I don’t know how it does it, but it still does it. It does it

04:09 wherever you lift it, I guess, cuz when I turn it on, it shows that it’s on the the uh sport mode. I got this clipped up here. I take it and let you see it. Plus, I need to be driving, not really moving the camera around. Um maybe I’ll Oh, let’s try this out. I’m going to go in here and try to

04:30 record this. Okay. Okay. Here we go. We’ll start recording it. So, I’m going to take my foot off. I’m going to go into this is city mode. So you can kind of see in city mode the response on the left where it says foot. That right there is just basically the throttle positioning of my

04:49 foot. And you can see the response over here. Let me go down here to this is stock. So stock same thing but Oh yeah that’s fitable. Now we’re going to go over here to sport mode. Oh yeah. And let’s take all go to track mode. Okay, here we go. Oh man. Um, you control the like how much by

05:22 this right here. Can’t have you put on the pedal though. Okay, you put on the pedal at all. It doesn’t It won’t let you move anything. Okay, maybe we’ll do that test one more time. I don’t have a good mount in this truck for the camera. In my F-150, I had a mount where everything is like there,

05:42 you know, where I needed it at. I haven’t done that in this truck here yet. All right, we’re going to take off down here in sport mode and I’m going to tell you when we hit 50 mph. Now, obviously I got to turn out, but that car is always sitting there. Now, American V. That’s a Chevrolet. Oh, it’s

06:11 simple. All right, let’s pull on out here. Oh man. Yeah, that wasn’t even that was 50 mph before I even looked down. Got really good throttle response. Oh, that was in track mode. Holy crap. Yep, that was track mode. Slow down. I ain’t got no ticket. All right, I’m get I’m out here on a

06:51 highway that’s got a couple more trip like a few more cars on it. I need to get back down to the speed limit. It’s 55. It’s 55. Okay, so this thing, this pedal monster is amazing. 100% suggest you get it. Let’s get lost.
