Jeep Wrangler JL Intake Install + Review
Matthew Melton recently installed the Banks Ram-Air Intake system on his 2021 Jeep Wrangler with the 3.6L V6 engine. His installation video is rather detailed, even going so far as to recommend simple tools from Harbor Freight to make the job a little easier. Matthew also takes the time to compare the stock intake system to the Banks system side-by-side, highlighting the stark differences that make the Ram-Air superior in airflow and air density.
On take-off, you can see the smile on Matthew’s face as he immediately notices the difference in interior sound, which is beefier and doesn’t drone during highway speeds. “So one thing that I will say is that at normal cruising you’re not going to notice it,” said Matthew from behind the wheel. “It’s not going to be annoying. If I’m not mashing the throttle, you can’t really hear it. But once you give it some gas you will definitely hear it. It sounds more like a Jeep should!”
Matthew chose the Ram-air with the dry filter element, but an oiled filter option is also available.
