Getting Punch Back After Mods

Jeff Carlisle is setting up his 3.0L EcoDiesel Gladiator for Overlanding. The Californian goes off-roading with his buddies just about every weekend. So far he’s got a 3” No Limit lift with custom springs to handle the weight of the engine, Fox 2.5 remote reservoirs, 37” Mickey Baja Boss tires, and Black Rhino wheels. All of those heavy parts have slowed the “punch” of the Gladiator’s performance. “The turbo lag was the biggest issue for me,” explained Jeff. “Stepping on the pedal to pick up the speed a little bit, you could feel a drag.”

The PedalMonster that provides the punch in the Jeep

“I bought the PedalMonster first to test the waters before buying anything else, and to my surprise, it exceeded my expectations. It was worth the time and money, and made such a big difference! I love the phone app and use it on a spare phone so it’s always connected. Three-quarters on City or halfway up Sport. Those are my sweet spots. The Derringer tuner is next on my list. I’m looking forward to increasing the horsepower.”

The Jeep out on the trail after getting the punch back.

“I have a buddy that has a 2.0L turbo JL Wrangler and I threw him the keys so that he could take mine for a spin. We went through all of the settings… and he was impressed. I think he’s already purchased one,” says Jeff with a smile.

Glad we could help your Jeep get its punch back!
