What Synthetic Oil Does for a Diesel Engine
Diesel engine oil must handle heat, soot, contaminants, and heavy mechanical loads while continuing to lubricate critical components. That makes the oil specification and maintenance schedule important parts of protecting a work truck, especially when it regularly tows or operates under high load.
Synthetic oil is engineered for consistent performance across a wide temperature range and can provide resistance to thermal breakdown and wear. However, the correct viscosity, specification, change interval, and approval still depend on the engine manufacturer and vehicle application. Always follow the truck owner’s manual and the oil manufacturer’s current recommendations.
