Banks is releasing a new product line to improve the performance of 7.3L Ford Power Stroke engines. The initial release is the Banks Intake Manifold, designed to increase airflow and reduce exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) temperatures. Testing showed a significant reduction in EGTs compared to the stock manifold. Future products in the line will include turbo upgrades, exhaust systems, and other performance enhancements.

Dallas Penn, a 2024 F-250 owner in high-altitude Colorado, details the challenges of vehicle performance in extreme conditions. He installed a suite of Banks products, including Ram-Air intake, Monster Exhaust, MAP Sensor Relocation Kit, Ram-Air Differential Cover, PedalMonster, and iDash, resulting in improved consistency, predictability, and control, particularly during high-altitude driving.

The Banks MAP Sensor Relocation Kit is now available for Ford, GM, and Ram trucks. The kit moves the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor out of the intake air stream, which is often contaminated with exhaust gas and oil vapor from the EGR and PCV systems. This relocation helps prevent buildup on the sensor, ensuring more accurate readings to the ECU, which can improve fuel economy and power output. The installation is described as simple, requiring basic tools and only a few minutes.

The article discusses common airflow restrictions in the Ford 6.0L Power Stroke engine, specifically the stock air intake and intercooler systems. It highlights how the Banks Ram-Air Intake and Techni-Cooler intercooler address these restrictions, improving airflow and engine performance. The Banks intake features a larger filter and streamlined design, while the Techni-Cooler offers a significantly larger core for better cooling.
