The Banks iDash Pro does more than show live data. When you need to catch a problem under load, compare runs, or review what the vehicle was doing after the fact, data logging gives you a record to work from. Insert a micro SD card, set your logging options in the Data Log menu, and choose whether to keep the default setup or log only specific parameters, including added sensors. From the main screen, hold the down arrow for three seconds to start recording, and hold it again to stop. The on-screen indicator lets you know the log is active, so you can verify the iDash Pro is capturing data while you drive.
The truck's in-cab gauge can display up to eight parameters at the same time on the main screen. For users who need more than live on-screen monitoring, the system also supports data logging of up to 100 parameters.
To begin a data log, the first step is to insert a micro SD card. With storage installed, the gauge is ready to save recorded data rather than only showing live values on the display.
After inserting the card, the next step is to review the data log settings. Press the right arrow to open the menu, then navigate to the option labeled Data Log. This menu is where the recording configuration is checked and adjusted before starting a session.
Within the Data Log menu, the default logging settings can be reviewed as-is. If those defaults are sufficient, no further setup is required. If the user wants to record only specific parameters, or if additional sensors have been added to the system, the logging selection can be changed in this menu so the recorded dataset matches the intended test or monitoring task.
Once setup is complete, return to the main screen. To start recording, press and hold the down arrow for three seconds. The system then begins logging data immediately.
While a log is in progress, an indicator at the top of the display shows that recording is active. This provides a quick confirmation that the gauge is currently capturing data.
To stop the recording, return to the same control used to start it: press and hold the down arrow again for three seconds. That ends the active data log session.
