The point of this Ford 7.3L setup is straightforward: the exhaust should fit the truck without forcing you to build it under the vehicle. The Banks Monster Exhaust System uses pre-bent tubing with hangers already welded on, so the sections slide into place in the right order from the turbine outlet pipe back through the intermediate pipes, muffler, tailpipe, and tip. That matters because good exhaust fitment is more than convenience. When the system lines up correctly before you tighten the clamps, you get proper clearance, cleaner tip placement, and room for expansion as the exhaust heats up. It is a simpler, cleaner install and a better-finished result on the truck.
With the vehicle already in the air, the installer uses the opportunity to fit the new exhaust system. The system is described as fully pre-bent, with all hangers already welded in place, so the installation is intended to be largely a matter of positioning the components and sliding them into place rather than fabricating or modifying parts.
Before assembling the exhaust, the installer emphasizes using a good pair of gloves. The pipe edges can be sharp enough to cut bare hands, so hand protection is an important practical step during installation.
The exhaust goes together in a straightforward sequence. After the turbine outlet pipe is installed, the intermediate pipes are slid into place. Those are followed by the large muffler, then the tailpipe, and finally the exhaust tip. The recap makes clear that the system is designed so each section fits in order without additional bending or custom alignment work.
The exhaust tip should be set approximately 2 inches below the fender. That clearance is left to accommodate thermal expansion as the exhaust heats up in use. The amount the tip protrudes outward is left to installer preference, but the recommended visual reference is to have it extend roughly as far as the tire.
Once every section is in its proper position, all clamps should be tightened. The tightening sequence starts at the front of the system and works rearward, helping lock in the alignment after the full exhaust has been fitted and adjusted.
