Step-by-step Installation

1. Start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal.

2. On hybrid vehicles with start-stop, there may be two terminals to remove.

3. Separate the two negative power leads so they are out of the way.

4. With a plastic pry tool, remove the driverside speaker cover.

5. It is held in place with 4 tabs.

6. Pop the cover off the top of the a-pillar.

7. With a 10mm socket, remove the bolt securing the top of the grab handle.

8. Do the same for the lower bolt.

9. With a firm tug, remove the grab-handle from the a-pillar.

10. Remove the grab handle from the truck and bring it to a work table.
Stealth Pod Drill Prep

11. Remove the plastic cover for the lower bolt.

It is held in place by a small plastic tab

12 Notice the exposed plastic right behind the Stealth Pod when installed.
When drilling your cable access hole, you do not want your step bit to damage this exposed section.

13. Create a small divit in the center of the plastic here. This is where you will start a pilot hole for your cable access hole.

14. With a 1/16-1/8″ drill bit, start your drill perpendicular to the plastic.
This will help the step bit to have some plastic to bite into when enlarging the hole.

15. Place the provided step bit into your drill, and mark either the 16mm or 18mm sizes with some painters tape to avoid drilling to deep.

16. Start the step bit perpendicular to the plastic. You do not want the bit to walk.

Slowly work the step bit into a vertical position.
Take care not to damage the exposed plastic on the a-pillar as noted in step 12.

You can clean up your cut with a pair of flush cutters.
Some drilling in the opposite direction may be needed to reach the required 16-18mm size.

17. Check that your single or dual cables pass through the hole you cut. Enlarge if need be.

18. Take the provided .125″ foam tape. Fold it in half, and cut in two pieces.

18. Press the foam tape into the flat portions on the back of the Stealth Pod.

This will fill in any gaps due to manufacturing differences on the a-pillar
Stealth Pod Installation

19. Return to the Jeep, and remove this small access panel to the left of the driver side dashboard.

20. From underneath in the foot well, run the 4-pin end of the OBD-II cable through the side and up towards the dashboard.

You’ll need about 4″ of slack near the top for the Stealth Pod and iDash.

21. Slide your 4-pin OBD-II cable (and your 6-pin data cable if you have one) through the cable access hole you drilled.

22. Reattach the grab handle to the A-pillar. Take care not to pinch the wires behind the plastic.

23. Reinstall the top 10mm bolt. Start threading the bolt by hand.

then snug the 10mm bolt with a ratchet.

24. With the Hex Bolt and Washer already installed, thread your cable(s) through the back of the Stealth Pod.

Take note of the orientation of the washer. Be sure the washer is flat against the head of the bolt when installing the Stealth Pod to prevent it binding during install.

25. With the supplied tool, tighten the Stealth Pod to the bottom.

26. Connect the 4 and/or 6 pin cables to the back of the iDash.

Slide the iDash into place, taking up excess slack as you clock the screen level.

27. Reattach the upper bolt cover.

28. Tidy up any excess cable with the provided zip-ties.

29. Replace the side dashboard cover.

It snaps back into place with 5 tabs.

30
. Snap the driver side speaker cover back on.

31. Reconnect the negative battery lead(s).

32. Connect the OBD-II cable to the OBD-II Port.

33. Check that the iDash boots up with the Jeep, that the iDash has been set to the correct vehicle setting, and enjoy your new iDash Stealth Pod.
