The stock 1991–1999 Jeep 4.0L manifold has two problems: it commonly cracks, and it is not laid out for proper exhaust scavenging. Many aftermarket headers repeat that same mistake with unequal-length tubes and abrupt converging points that let exhaust pulses interfere with each other.
