Removal

Step 1

Disconnect the negative terminal from both batteries.

Step 2

Disconnect the positive terminal from the passenger side battery.

Step 3

Remove the factory intake tube by loosening the 2 hose clamps. Use a 7mm nut driver or socket and ratchet.

Step 4

Remove the two 8mm bolts securing the factory air box to the inside of the passenger side fender.

Step 5

Unplug the mass airflow sensor (MAF) connector.

Step 6

Detach the MAF harness from the back of the intake box. Move the end of the harness towards the firewall and out of the way.

Step 7

Pull the air box out of the vehicle.

Step 8

Remove the factory intake scoop by removing the plastic rivet.

Step 9

Remove the battery hold down bracket by unscrewing the 2 nuts using a 10mm deep socket and ratchet. Pull the negative cable out of the way.

Step 10

Lift the battery straight up and remove it.

Step 11

Detach the wiring harnesses from the battery tray.

Step 12

Remove the battery tray and air duct by first removing the 4 bolts using a 13mm socket and ratchet.

Step 13

Separate the battery tray from the air duct. There are 2 screws and 2 clips holding them together. Only the tray will be reused.

Step 14

Remove the clip-on nuts from the battery tray.


Installation

Step 1

Place the Banks Power Intake housing into the vehicle.

Step 2

Place the battery tray in place above the housing. Make sure that the 2 tapered feet are seated into the factory rubber grommets.

Step 3

Use the supplied screw to attach the tray to the housing.

Step 4

Reinstall the 4 bolts thru the battery tray using the 13mm socket and ratchet.

Step 5

From inside the Banks Power intake housing, reinstall the 2 bolts holding it to the inside of the fender. Use an 8mm socket and ratchet.

Step 6

Reattach the harnesses to the battery tray.

Step 7

Reinstall the battery.

Step 8

Reinstall the battery bracket with the ground cable bracket.

Step 9

Slide the factory intake scoop into place and reinstall the plastic rivet.

Step 10

Transfer the MAF sensor and filter minder from the factory air box to the Banks Power intake tube.

Step 11

Fit the 2 supplied hose clamps onto the Banks Power elbow. Do not tighten clamps.

Step 12

Loosely install the Banks Power elbow onto the intake tube using the supplied hose clamp. Do not tighten the clamp.

Step 13

Carefully position the Banks Power air filter into the housing.

Step 14

Drop the Banks Power intake tube into place and slip the elbow opening onto the engine inlet. Leave the clamps loose.

Step 15

Plug the in MAF sensor.

Step 16

Line up the end of the intake tube to the housing and insert the 4 Philips head bolts into place. Tighten the bolts.

Step 17

Check the position of the tube and elbow and tighten the 2 hose clamps.

Step 18

Reconnect the battery terminals.
